I'll often ask someone to "draw the DAG" for some nutso causal claim they're making.
The usual response from them is to not draw the DAG or to provide any substance.
The most common substantive response is to verbally imply an insane DAG no sane person would ever endorse.
What I wonder is:
If people did what I asked and *drew* the damn thing, would they realize when they're making a critical mistake?
I might start drawing people's implied DAGs and confronting them to see, but it's time-consuming, so I might just continue ignoring them.
