Arianna Sofia Veraza, a one-year-old, and her parents were driving to Sam's Club for milk, eggs and diapers yesterday when they heard helicopters and horns blaring yesterday. They had turned around to leave when a federal agent pepper-sprayed them through a car window. They were not protesting. DHS didn’t address the Veraza family’s run-in in a statement, only saying that people “stalked” the federal convoy into the Sam’s Club parking lot and that one Border Patrol vehicle was rammed during that confrontation. According to the statement, agents arrested 9 people, 8 of whom were U.S citizens, over the course of the morning in Little Village and Cicero.
