NOT GUILTY. This is the same guy the government sent about 20 officers—some in riot gear—to *re-arrest* so they could film it for social media attention. Over a sandwich. How humiliating for the government.

A jury is deliberating in the sandwich thrower case. At trial, the officer conceded he wasn't hurt, said the biggest downside was that he smelled onions/mustard, and admitted his colleagues thought it was so funny that they gave him gag gifts. We are not a serious country.
The argument isn’t that it’s OK to throw things at people. It’s not! The argument is that prosecutors use discretion all the time because not every offense is worth trying. It was clear that the govt was doing this for attention. Video speaks for itself.
A lot of folks seem to feel strongly that the sandwich thrower needed to be prosecuted & jailed. Meanwhile, I guarantee you that if I ran up to a DC cop & reported someone for throwing a sandwich at me, he or she would apologize and…almost certainly not pursue the case.
