Today we're excited to announce Burner Terminal, the first point of sale designed from the ground up for accepting stablecoins.
Terminal introduces the first native stablecoin tap to pay: with Burner you don't need to fight with QR codes or apps, simply tap the same way you would with a traditional credit card.
At launch we are expecting to support USD II and $USDC on @base with fully subsidized transfers so that you don't need to worry about having gas in your wallet to pay.
We'll also be opening up our tap to pay NFC interface for any mobile or hardware wallet to use.
On the merchant side we anticipate that direct stablecoin payments will be free for merchants to accept.
And for those businesses who want to accept any cryptocurrency we are working closely with @FlexaHQ to offer a special Terminal variant.
Terminal will offer a QR code backup mechanism for mobile wallets that support EIP-681, as well as optional EMV support for traditional Visa, Mastercard and @colossuspay so small merchants only need to have a single point of sale.
