Our entire industry is now paying the piper for 5-6 foundational years spent where the vast majority of new companies did not think they need to make money thru a viable business model. This led to an industry wide move towards effectively 0 fees, even when some fees were appropriate. Entire categories speedrunning a race to the bottom, instead of moderately lowering fees. This is a big reason why a lot of things that used to be given out by companies for free in '20-'24 suddenly either vanishing or having a price tag, only to be met by extremely surprised customers.
