The greatest threat to our national security is apathy. Every problem we have is born from a citizenry that handed over its sovereignty to the government and put little to no effort into holding them accountable. The EBT benefits issue gave me pause to think. I take no joy in the prospect of families going hungry, but welfare was created to be the exception, not the standard. Our national debt is a symptom of the same "ignore the problem because it's not my problem" attitude we're saddled with. We've allowed corrupt leaders spend money we didn't have, yet we refused to vote them out. We've allowed states all across this nation to level us with taxes that often come with zero representation. We fought a war because of this for our independence once upon a time. We allowed this. We allowed open borders, insurmountable debt, out of control healthcare costs, skyrocketing taxes, inflation, endless wars, men in women's sports (lol), stolen elections, radical communism being taught in our schools, and the list goes on and on and on. All of this was because of our apathy. I like seeing people wake up and realize the work that needs to be done, but it will require many more to turn back the tide. There's a lot to do. "In a free society, government reflects the soul of its people. If people want change at the top, they will have to live in different ways. Our major social problems are not the cause of our decadence. They are a reflection of it." - Cal Thomas
