blockworks is an excellent company. they bootstrapped a media business (width) and evolved into a data company (depth). if they’ve made changes to their team, it’s ultimately to everyone’s benefit - we’d hire ex-blockworks folks in a heartbeat if they fit our open roles - and to the industry’s benefit, because no one has told the data story better. i have no personal stake here (we’re just telegram acquaintances at best), but i’m glad to see media outlets reject low-quality clicks. i hope they win… and i commend the team for staying focused.
business models built on “news” inevitably drift toward clicks - they either start writing hit pieces or get sold to a soulless conglomerate. that’s why it’s great to see a media company evolve into a data infrastructure company instead. also, as i said in my op, we’d be glad to hire anyone affected - blockworks alumni are excellent and will do great wherever they go.
