It took me too long to see it, but now it’s very clear—and across every issue. Carlson makes it seem like only evil or corruption—religious heresy, blackmail, being paid off—prevents everyone from absolutely despising Israel as much as he does. There’s no recognition of America’s national interest in supporting Israel because his obsession makes it impossible to acknowledge that one even exists. (That’s what all the insane conspiracy garbage is for: to make the audience reject arguments about things that exist in real life.) That’s the definition of a demagogue.
