an ecash mint with full KYC still has vastly better privacy than a normal custodian, the mint still can't steal your ecash, it still can't prevent you from making payments, and it still doesn't know your balance. it's unintuitive but it's true if you think about how ecash works: the transactions themselves happen peer to peer and the mint can't correlate inputs to outputs. still fascinating to me.
