It seems like this is what we've been waiting for all along. This is how @megaeth_labs Makes Ethereum Great Again. MegaETH has been a project that appeared with the slogan "MEGA," yet has continuously faced questions about what actual contribution it makes to Ethereum. I myself used to think that, given MegaETH's demonstrated technical efforts, MEGA was closer to meaning 'Make EVM Great Again.' What I learned from this announcement is that what MegaETH wants to give Ethereum isn't just money, but rather a community that it can't buy. MegaETH's KPIs - the criteria for unlocking staking incentives - include the realization of Ethereum's roadmap. However, retails are mostly focused on price rather than Ethereum's actual development. The reality is that no matter how hard the Ethereum development team works, if ETH drops, my Telegram channel fills with curses. But if the entire MegaETH community and team are incentivized to push for Ethereum roadmap implementation like this... From Ethereum's perspective, they gain the passionate retail community they've needed most, and when technical advances are made, more voices emerge, capturing much greater mindshare. MegaETH can create a flywheel by aligning token staking with the development of the Ethereum-MegaETH ecosystem, while perfectly addressing the criticisms they've faced so far. We'll have to see how much rewards MegaETH can provide to stakers given its current quite high valuation. Thinking inversely, there's also greater uncertainty compared to epoch-based systems. But I'm really looking forward to see how MegaETH is going to make Ethereum great again!
