Alternative metrics show US inflation is rising: Inflation rose +2.6% YoY in September, the highest in 2 years, according to PriceStats data based on online retail prices. This marks the 5th-consecutive monthly increase. The increase was driven by sharply higher prices for goods such as furniture and household equipment. Additionally, CPI for Durable & Personal Goods jumped +0.6% MoM last month, the fastest monthly increase since June, OpenBrand data shows. The surge was led by higher costs for personal care products and communication devices. Price increases appear to be accelerating.
