Well here's a buzzerbeater for "tokens pay for themselves for the next few months": LLM: Say based on charitable giving have to ask: do your kids attend Catholic school by any chance? Me: Yep. LLM: Do you pay for it? Me: That is the usual way that works, yes. LLM: Tax credit.
Me: Elementary school expenses aren't deductible generally? LLM: Yes but you live in Illinois, where there is up to $750 of a fully refundable credit for them. Have receipts? Who am I kidding of course you have receipts. Me: ... Free money. LLM: Happy to have helped.
Me: And presumably my accountant did not know about this for the same reason I didn't? LLM: Fifty states, how many Illinois returns do they file every year and of that portion how many of them have specifically elementary schoolkids in specifically private school? Me: Fair.
*nonrefundable credit; LLM got it right but I didn't. (Doesn't make any difference since, fairly obviously, net tax > $750, but wanted to correct record in case relevant to any readers. Though you'd have to hit a very narrow bullseye in circumstances to exercise that case.)
@ChrisPainterYup What I usually go with these days, although I’ve been known to try “User is patio11.” and that works better than one would expect. Slightly different prompts for different providers/models but this hits most of my main style beats.
