The US keeps issuing laws and executive orders to strictly restrict chip and semiconductor exports to China, constantly adding Chinese companies to the Entity List. How can they expect China not to retaliate strongly? Since when does such a one-sided rule exist in the world? There’s a Chinese saying for that logic, “The magistrate allows himself to set fire but bans everyone else from lighting candles.”To use a US expression, “Do as I say, not as I do.” China now has strength and cards to play. If the U.S. keeps pushing us, we will play them. They will be paid back in kind. To make a deal, the U.S. must drop its hegemonic tactics. Compromise has to be a two-way street. Otherwise, China is not afraid to stand its ground.
