The FCC will be voting this month on two additional actions to safeguard our networks from CCP spy gear. 1. Adopting a new rule that bans the continued importation or sale of previously authorized devices by entities that the FCC subsequently placed on our Covered List due to nat sec concerns. No more unchecked grandfathering of device models. 2. Extending our Covered List prohibitions to certain component parts, rather than limiting them to finished devices themselves. So Huawei components installed inside an otherwise permissible device manufacturers gear will no longer escape scrutiny.
