any NASDAQ order can easily fit inside 1000 bytes so... 5 000 000 orders per second are 5 000 000 000 bytes per second that's 5gbps you know what else is 5gbps? half of this portuguese ISP contracted plan of 50€ a month and I still get an extra TV for 6€ just use Solana.

People wildly underestimate the scale required for bringing global finance onchain (but not Celestia) A *single* decentralized NASDAQ needs to support 70k base and 250k peak TPS. There are roughly 20 NASDAQ scale exchanges globally, so you need to 20x that to 1.4M to 5M TPS (!) PLUS, moving global markets onchain will massively increase the TAM - more assets/tokens will be listed bc it will be permissionless to issue and list, more traders will be able to access these markets without KYC and only needing an internet connection, and these markets will be live 24/7. Let's say this increases the TAM by another 4x, then we'll need 6M to 20M TPS. Sounds crazy now but 10 years from now this might be a reality. I can't think of another L1 that has a chance of getting anywhere remotely close to supporting this kind of throughput other than Celestia. The upcoming Matcha upgrade will scale Celestia up to ~200k TPS but we're cooking up something on our roadmap that will help us make the leap to global onchain finance scale of millions of TPS. Celestia's obsession with scale might seem silly now, but it won't in 10 years
