@crainbf @epicenterbtc I had half forgotten that the Parity (Hello @paritytech) client was only one of three planned phases. It was named as such because it was aiming for parity with existing clients (geth, cpp-ethereum, ethereumj). Civility and Tenuity were to follow!

@crainbf @epicenterbtc @paritytech This story reminds of Hyperledger Fabric. It was originally intended to be an open source framework for building blockchain clients (a fabric, if you will), kinda like Substrate. An initial goal to build a Bitcoin client. But then the IBM biz people made it into a product!

The initial scope, by historical fluke was Ethereum Foundation to end of Ming Chan era (July 2014 to Jan 2018) and anybody working on Ethereum in the earlier stage. But of course, Ethereum is a lot wider than that.

I most recently saw Dimitry in Bogota for DEVCON6. He did some work helping us with cross-client testing on Ethereum Classic.

Yesterday, I went digging on the UK legal entity, called ETH DEV CIC (Community Interest Company), which was first incorporated in August 2014, very soon after the incorporation of the @ethereumfdn) in July 2014. There is a blue plaque on the wall for it!

@ethereumfndn I also added a little bit more information the Stiftung Ethereum page, splitting up legal entity changes by "epoch" and adding the org chart, which I was so, so delighted to see appear:

We can never know what history will call current phases of history as they are enfolding, but I think we are no longer in the Infinite Garden. "Wartime CEO" is my best guess (tip of the hat to @tkstanczak who is doing an amazing job!)
