$INTC vol has gone bid into the earnings tonight. Mr. Market expecting a move. I've been long the stock for a while, my patience is running a bit thin!

$ETH up 25% in a matter of days!

#ETH is up 14% in 2 days stealing the limelight from #Bitcoin. Implied vol has exploded understandably, spiking 16 vols in the front end back towards 80%. Call skew also caught a serious bid in the very front end, although longer term expiries more muted,

Quite a different vol reaction between BTC and ETH on the break higher. BTC calls getting sold in August and Sep 140-150k strikes has seen vol lower on the week in those maturities despite a 2-sigma rally in BTC. ETH vol on the other hand is higher as the break above 3000 has opened the door to potentially much more upside. What do you think? Does ETH take the baton from here?

Fixed strike vols on SPX crushed last week as tariff announcements got digested easily and SPX realised vol stayed in single digits. Notice the kink in the forward vol term structure highlighted in green, this shows the "event" risk postponed until 01Aug. Focus will shift to earnings for a couple of weeks but then this issue may re-emerge like the vol surface is showing. Enjoy the index calm while it lasts!
