I talked to @LHSummers about President Trump's "big, beautiful bill," which he described as "the biggest cutback in the American social safety net ... we've ever had."

Effective today, I have resigned from the Advisory Board of UATX. While I believe very much in the importance of competition and innovation in higher education, and see major problems with the lack of diverse perspective in elite institutions, I am not comfortable with the course that UATX has set nor the messages it promulgates and so am withdrawing.

I am on the board, didn’t serve with Biden and was plenty critical of Biden's stimulus and inflation. (Greg Mankiw former Bush CEA chair is also on the board.)  I trust @The_Budget_Lab analysis over @realDonaldTrump's economic team analysis every day of the week and so would the rest of the economics profession. I would be happy to debate @SecScottBessent any place, any time -- even @FoxNews -- on any points of economic analysis, the merits of OBBB or the tariff war.
