Ok I’ve now done 2 rounds of function health testing and my LDL particle number and density got worse. I’m scared of having a heart attack. I know they are going to want to put me on a statin. Anyone else have suggestions for lowering these numbers?

I took a CMO role this week that I couldn’t pass up. It’s funny because leaving the marketing world to become an author felt like I was closing that door. Turns out you can just leave doors open and see what happens!

Guys this platform is hilarious. I’ve tweeted for months about cognitive behavior, marketing insights and productivity for working parents…. Nothing gets more than a few likes. So I wanted to see something…... I tried a divisive tweet. Almost 4m views. And now I’m being called the worst names. If this is the game on here, I don’t want to play.

If someone doesn’t have full access to your life, they shouldn’t have full access to your brain or emotions. The nosebleed section doesn’t get a Backstage pass.

Fun fact: after I turned in the full MS of my book my editor asked me to print it out, cut it up and completely reorganize the thoughts. She said: The content is there, the story is not. Now this may seem normal to those who have been through the process but it WRECKED ME! All of a sudden I thought "well they finally figured me out. I'm not an author!" And it sparked a memory: I remember in high school, my coach would yell at me the most during practice. And one day I broke down crying. He came over and said "I'm the toughest on those who have the most potential" That sentence rewired me. You are in the game. Be coachable. Twenty years later, my editor’s request felt like that coach on the sidelines... She wasn’t exposing me as a fraud.....she was pointing at possibility. So I spent two weeks on the floor with scissors, tape, and 300 shredded pages. Chapter by chapter, the story finally clicked into place. And the voice in my head shifted from “I’m not an author” to “I’m becoming one.” Takeaways if you’re getting tough notes right now: 1️⃣ Feedback isn’t a verdict; it’s validation that someone sees your potential. 2️⃣ The first draft proves you can start. Got upgraded on my flight to NYC this morning and everyone in 1st class had their laptops out, working. I looked back into the rest of the plane - sleeping and movies. Was just a very interesting observation.

I think it’s so cute that we all have our parents in our phone as “Mom Cell” or “Dad cell” because they actually had land lines.

I can't stop thinking about this video I saw recently. A psychologist showed a person 2 snicker bars and asked them to choose. Well....that's an easy decision. They are both the same. Then the psychologist showed the person a snicker bar and an almond joy. The person had a preference... She picked the almond joy. No one cared which she chose so the cognitive load of that decision felt low... she could make the decision easily. Story time.... For over a year I battled with the idea of filing for divorce. I would google "should I get a divorce" and take quizzes, read articles and look at forums. I thought I was looking for information but I was really looking for permission. Finally a therapist said to me: "In life there are no right or wrong decisions....there is the decision you make and then making it the right one for you" In life....we need to remember the snickers vs. almond joy. No one really cares what decision we make. Every day: - people change jobs - people leave careers - people end friendships - people leave relationships I hope this helps someone today 💛
