Shresth is right here. "Blocks" are a construction-specific notion – in blockchains etc. They're not part of the *problem statement* or the *model*. I can make a system with very fast blocks; e.g., by producing empty blocks – useless. The metric is not construction-independent.

Our approach with the BitVM experiment: radical transparency, not marketing.
We reported costs ($15K), limitations, and real challenges.
One co-author said our data "doesn't look great" for selling BitVM.
That's the point.
This was a reality check, not a sales pitch.
Sometimes the most valuable research shows you exactly where the problems are.

Engineering principle: Never build to the absolute limit.
When designing Bitcoin staking, I wanted maximum timelock (~16 months).
Our engineers wisely insisted on 90% of max to account for edge cases.
BitVM's 3.9999MB transactions learned this lesson the hard way.
