[NEWS] Stellantis is suing an Iowa dealership: Stellantis claims Sky Auto Mall, with locations in Newhall and Center Point, Iowa, engaged in “double flooring.” Also known as securing financing for the same vehicles from multiple lenders simultaneously. But keeps the loan proceeds instead of paying for the cars. According to the complaint: Vehicles were also (allegedly) moved between the two locations to help conceal the activity. Since filing the suit, about 76 employees across both stores have been laid off. But Stellantis is also asking a court to approve seizing vehicles, parts, and equipment valued at more than $20M.
