Val team initially got interested in Hyperliquid because of cancellation priority. At the time, application-specific-sequencing was the buzz of ETH&SOL land- Hyperliquid just put it in prod. It was a harsh realization that you can just do things (and Hyperliquid was). Cool to see mempool becoming verifiable; will take ETH&SOL another decade.
