Claude Code has a hidden setting that can increase code navigation speed by hundreds of times after installation.
The principle is as follows: by default, Claude Code uses text search to find code, similar to using Ctrl+F in a folder, searching through files one by one. After installing the LSP plugin, it uses the same code understanding engine as VS Code—directly knowing where each function is defined, who is calling it, and what changes will affect what.
The difference in experience: when you ask it to modify a feature, previously it would rummage through hundreds of files, often making mistakes and wasting your conversation quota. Now it jumps directly to the correct location, saving both time and quota.
If you don't want to mess around, just tell Claude Code "help me install the TypeScript LSP plugin," and it will take care of it.
