Getting ready to release a mobile app we've been working on for the past month.
The design files sat in Figma for over a year. When Opus 4.5 came out, I felt inspired to start building it.
One thing I've noticed that is especially different about building products in the code gen era is that instead of building an MVP you can actually build a big old XL product.
This is counterintuitive to many product people because we used try to identify the one or two features that we needed to start with & iterate until we found something people wanted. MVPs were a forcing function of time and cost.
Now you can just build the whole damn thing. The easiest comparison I can make is that we used to start by building a Toyota Prius product (stripped down & efficient) and now we can just release an Escalade.
Big chunky products are the future, not simple MVPs.
I understand simple products are normally better UX/UI but in this new moment you can start with a big slab of marble & chisel away at your product as you build your sculpture.
What a time to be alive.
