The world has been ideologically divided into two camps,
with China and the U.S. both splitting apart, AI and Crypto are also splitting apart.
Different leftists and rightists are everywhere around the world.
The first camp is the continuation of neoliberalism from the past,
which has been pursuing a large market and a small government.
The second camp is state capitalism,
where the state machine controls key industries with strong industrial policies.
The trend in recent years has been the decline of neoliberalism;
Neoliberalism is a concept that is larger than just the U.S. or even the West; it is not exclusive to America. This ideology is distributed globally, embraced by international financial capital, the Ethereum Foundation, cyber nations, and global tech giants, as they earn money on a global scale.
State capitalism is represented by gold and local core industries. They embody neoconservatism, with the core idea being "stability over everything," believing that the real economy is the foundation, and that supply chains must always be self-controlled.
A core issue for a country is to solve the problem of order. Where there is order, there will inevitably be oppression, but to achieve order, the rules must be strict enough.
In this camp, national competitiveness and safety margins are the most important, with collective interests outweighing individual interests.
Now, let's talk about the splits.
The entire native Crypto industry has always been a pioneer of neoliberalism; decentralization is the original story of the industry. Its essence is the extreme version of a large market and a small government—no laws, just "code is law."
Thus, BTC fundamentalists and Tether, which wants to become the central bank of the world, represent neoliberalism,
while various exchanges, Circle, WLFI, and even the "crypto circle" we are familiar with resemble state capitalism.
Both China and the U.S. are emphasizing stronger self-controlled supply chains, with funds like a16z, which is "national fortune-level fundraising," almost claiming to be U.S. industrial guidance funds; the largest global players have completely turned right.
Finally, a few words about AI,
Anthropic refuses to cooperate with the U.S. government, while OpenAI readily signs contracts.
It’s all about division, all about taking sides.
Choose your hero.
