Submitted: Spring Lake Park High School dance coach wears “Abolish ICE” T-shirt to sections. A Minnesota parent emailed the MSHSL, Spring Lake Park superintendent, and principals after he says several parents expressed disgust. Part of the letter reads: “This event was an away competition for your school involving more than ten school districts. By allowing a coach to display a political message so prominently, spectators, other school districts and their officials were placed in an extremely difficult and unfair position—forced either to ignore the behavior or risk escalating a situation that never should have occurred in the first place. School-sponsored events should remain neutral spaces focused solely on students, competition, and sportsmanship.” In a statement to @AlphaNews, a district spokesperson said this about last month’s event: “Our staff handbook provides clear guidance on appropriate attire. This attire was not in alignment with our guidance for employees and was addressed.”
