As a Web3 agency owner, I go through a lot of profiles. Some look strong at first glance. Big numbers. Decent engagement rate.
Then you break it down.
Engagement concentrated in the same small group. Low reach outside that circle. Accounts interacting that don’t really carry weight themselves.
A few bots here and there is normal. That’s just how X works.
But if most of the activity isn’t coming from real, active accounts with their own audience, it changes the whole picture.
As a project, you’re not paying for impressions on paper. You’re paying for distribution.
Once you look at where the engagement is coming from, some profiles don’t look the same anymore.
