The statement delivered by the United Arab Emirates at the UN Human Rights Council exposed a hard truth that Sudan’s official narrative continues to evade. Instead of confronting the root causes of the conflict militarization, violations against civilians, and obstruction of humanitarian aid the Sudanese position relies on deflection and external accusations. This approach does not absolve responsibility; it deepens the crisis. The UAE’s stance is principled and consistent: there is no military solution, no justification for politicizing aid, and no tolerance for impunity. Accountability and civilian protection are not optional they are prerequisites for peace. As long as parts of the Sudanese leadership reject dialogue and resist a genuine civilian-led political process, the suffering of the people of Sudan will continue. Denial may delay reckoning, but it cannot replace truth, nor can it silence the demands for justice and peace.
