It probably sounds like everything around you is bearish.
People leaving crypto. Endless PvP. [Insert thing] is dead. Feels like you're constantly falling behind etc.
I've honestly felt it too and it's tough. Here's how I've managed it so far and what has helped me personally so far.
1. Surround yourself with optimists. Many voices on CT are salty and assume bad faith in everything. Tune them out. Listen to what the optimists are saying. Don't trust, but verify (what they're feeling optimistic on and why). Be skeptical, but also be open. I've found it fascinating that some of the most talented people I know in crypto are the ones least impacted by the negativity--very mission driven on one (or a select few) specific problem. Introspect on what that is for you. It's okay not to know yet, but adopt the mindset that you're actively searching.
2. The overly infra narrative of crypto is gone, and tbh a lot of that is good. That being said, we're entering an era where the net population of builders is expanding at a scale we've never seen before. I actually think there are still opportunities in building the right kind of infra. The pendulum has swung too far in the other direction. Actively participate and experiment. Don't focus on "building a thing" but the :experience of building a thing". What felt good? What didn't? What tools do you wish you had?
3. When everything feels like it's changing, focus on what stays the same. The world around you feels like is changing at an exponential rate. It's true. But change happens *around* the fundamental human experience and emotions rather than changing them. Cracking the code of what makes people feel like something was 'fun', 'helpful', 'desirable', or 'valuable' is just as valuable as learning that hot new AI tool. This is where you should probably touch grass (or snow i guess)
If it feels like you’re working on something and no one cares, that’s fine. I hope you keep going. Narratives are lagging indicators, and the narratives people repeat today were written by those who kept working when it looked like nothing mattered.
And if you feel lost and unsure what’s next, I hope you stay curious. There are still unsolved problems, strange behaviors, and real human needs showing up here. As long as that’s true, there’s something worth working on.
