A couple of excellent new-ish Indian restaurants in SF you should try Kolapasi (Mission) South Indian food (Andhra / TN) Spicy, bold, closer to everyday food in these regions than most restaurants Order: honestly anything Jalebi Street (Haight) North Indian street food (vegetarian) Focused on chaat: crunchy, sour, sweet, mildly spicy snacks Order: left side of menu A 3rd non-standard Indian place in SF would be Besharam (dogpatch). It’s modern Gujarati food. All of these are excellent and represent completely different types of cuisine with almost no overlap of dishes. They are as different as French, Spanish, and Italian restaurants are to each other- they have totally different flavor profiles and use very different ingredients.
