The art of patience in investing: Top 10 days -> 55-60% of your total gains Top 20 days -> 75%-85% of returns Top 30 days -> 90%+ of returns Another statistic: if you miss the top 20 days, your returns will not beat inflation. Miss the top 30 days and your returns turn to 30 or negative. This is the power of holding and waiting. Sometimes nothing happens for years, and then all of a sudden it pulls the move you've been waiting for.

Take silver for example. You could have invested in silver in November 2012 and would have waited 151 months (~13 years) to break even. And then in the next 7 months you would have made ~3.5X on your investment. 95% waiting for 0 returns 5% waiting for 3.5x returns During these 13 years you looked like a clown. Now you'd look like a genius.

Now let's take #altcoins vs $BTC. Only ~20 weeks every 4 years (200 weeks) you get altcoins heavily outperforming Bitcoin. Again, you'll be frustrated with your altcoins 90% of the time because it doesn't do anything, and surely doesn't outperform Bitcoin. Then in 10% of the time you get the vast majority of all the gains.

I get it that people are frustrated and mad at people like me, who build and explain a case of what can/will happen with crypto, while nothing is happening yet. You make your case BEFORE that 5-10% of the time start. That's exactly where you build your position and your conviction. The market doesn't catch up with fundamentals or your case for a while longer. That's the whole point. The market should be catching up only afterwards.
