Yesterday I was invited to lunch by President Milei in Olivos, in gratitude for the support I gave him during the most difficult week of his government before the elections. In the meeting, we discussed the pending issues. The idea was to think of the best way to strengthen the teams and prepare for this second stage, but we couldn't reach an agreement. The departure of a capable and balanced man like Guillermo Francos, who represented sensibility to the public, to be replaced by someone without experience, does not seem to be good news. As I mentioned, there was the possibility of replacing Francos with another suitable person from his team, with a more technical profile and greater capacity for leadership and team coordination, like Horacio Marín, the current president of YPF, who meets all the conditions due to his previous experience. The Chief of Cabinet Ministers is an essential figure: he coordinates the political and management teams around an agenda and a strategy. To this ill-advised decision, in my opinion, is added the lack of resolution of the known internal disputes of the government, which are key in the roadmap for the future. I regret this situation because, after the effort made, the validation of the people at the polls, and the unprecedented support from the United States, the country is facing a historic opportunity that cannot be wasted. As the president has publicly stated, I have not asked for and will not ask for anything personally, but I feel compelled to make my contribution and express my concerns because we are united by the future of the country.
