Every SNAP recipient should come up for review every 90 days. What measures have they taken to improve their situation? How many job interviews have they attended? Have they made any non-essential purchases? Safety nets must come with safeguards.

SNAP is for desperate life or death scenarios. It’s not for people who think groceries are too expensive and if they buy them they won’t have money for new cellphones and expensive tattoos.

Think about it: You are required by law - under penalty of imprisonment - to give up a substantial chunk of your paycheck to a Congress that hasn’t shown up for work since September and SNAP recipients who have new cellphones and thousand dollar tattoos.
