Fato curioso: Tolkien obteve a palavra ‘eleventy’ do inglês antigo. Depois de 70, 80 e 90, o inglês antigo continuou com tenty, eleventy e twelfty: hundtēontiġ, hundenleftiġ, hundtwelftiġ. Acredita-se que isso seja um vestígio de um antigo sistema numérico de base-12 que era comum entre as tribos germânicas.
