Today, we’re officially unveiling our newest and most exciting contribution to accelerate the onchain experience on Monad: shMonad RPC. shMonad RPC is a new RPC infrastructure service for the Monad blockchain. It introduces a Stake-Weighted Bandwidth Allocation system powered by the shMonad LST protocol. It is uniquely designed to reward its users while delivering the best in latency, execution, and reliability for their onchain interactions. Let's dive in🧵
Delivering a performant and reliable RPC service requires more than speed. It must remain accessible to all while resisting Sybil attacks, controlling spam, managing resources fairly, and load-balancing efficiently, especially during periods of high network traffic on Monad. To meet this challenge, we use shMonad, the world’s first Holistic Liquid Staking protocol purpose-built for Monad. We implement a Stake-Weighted Bandwidth Allocation model that regulates bandwidth usage by all incoming transactions based on stake weight, measured in shMON balances. In short, shMonad allows us to implement a Stake-Weighted Bandwidth Allocation model for the shMonad RPC service.
With this safeguard in place, we are able to double down on performance goals such as minimizing latency, improving responsiveness, and delivering consistent throughput across the Monad ecosystem.
