I mostly stopped writing about Back versus Front Row six years ago, because I got bored of it, didn’t want to be that guy, and I thought education as our biggest divide, with huge political ramifications, was understood enough by Dems that they would stop continually throwing pick‑sixes. But apparently not. Maybe Jon doesn’t care, knows this hurts his cause (whatever that is) and is simply cynically focusing on the small base that's made him rich. Maybe all the resistance is that now: an industry that only cares about making money, not bettering the culture. Anyways, this is really painful. But what do they care? They have their mansions, their sense that they are on the right side of history, and maybe that’s all they have ever worried about.
