AIs suck at local-first apps. They believe that round trips must be avoided and that everything should be cached in the frontend. For local-first apps, there are no round trips. Even the distinction between frontend and backend is entirely wrong. There's only one end.

The plan is simple: First, we'll migrate alt-L1s to light L2s. Then, we'll migrate those L2s to rollups. Next, we'll migrate those rollups to based rollups. Finally, we'll migrate based rollups to native rollups. Ethereum will consume all.

Before long, there will be programming language primitives, something like `ai.log(everything)` that pipes the entire program state to AI at every line so it knows what's going on and why the code it just wrote sucks so bad.

We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers. The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.
