Even before I started college I told my friends I would drop out They all thought I was insane and constantly talked down on my apps They told me to be “realistic” and play it safe Now those same people can’t find jobs But at least they have a fancy piece of paper

Sure making money is cool but it’s not the whole point Getting millions of users to download and share your product hits harder than any dollar amount ever could Make people feel something and you’ll be rewarded more than you can imagine

Rule #1 to crush it in consumer: Name the app something your target market already says BAGS = Crypto slang for money NGL = Gen Z slang for honesty ZoomU = Covid era slang for college Make users comprehend your app’s core concept on their first impression and you’ll go far

The biggest struggle with building NGL was getting the first 1,000 people to download and share it in one day This took ~7 months and countless attempts but finally we cracked it The key was focusing our efforts around 1 north star metric: % of users sharing the link + replies
