I started painting everyone blue in 2020. Not because I wanted to be different But because I wanted to erase the concept of race in my world. In blue, we’re all equal. Just energy. Just presence. In my new collection PLAIN SIGHT, we darken the blue signifying the shadows that we shine from no matter what. Here’s some divas from the past and the present:

It's always funny to me when people tell artists to stay out of politics. As if art hasn't always been political. Artists have long used their work to expose injustice, document war, and challenge the powers that be. Art is a reflection of the world. In times of crisis or cultural shifts, it's the artists who interpret the moment for the masses. We turn pain into paintings. Fear into films. Politics into poetry. To ask artists to stay silent is to misunderstand what art is for.
