Back from @thelatestindefi conference. Great time going over some new research in defi. Takeaways: - Lots of brainpower still on MEV and solving. Whether it's auction structure or path construction, researchers are playing around with designs. Talking to people offline, it's prob 50/50 whether they think AI will eventually be all solvers and it will turn into a hardware game. - The research on DAO's/ oracles/ subjective stuff is minimal, but mainly because people have realized its impossible to use pure code. You need subjective layers to make it safe and it seems like centralized paths are just fine to most - A lot of the research is just formalizing what cracked teams have been doing in the wild. Really liked some conversations with @CoWSwap and @taikoxyz - all of the college kids I talked to use AI for every single assignment and are based af. They're still at these conferences in their free time and love the space, but automate the busy work. There's also a general vibe among the newcomers that "decentralization" might just be corporations avoiding regulations/taxes... Awesome time though, can't wait for the next one
