The community that has formed around @SamSpratt's work is truly one of the very best in our space. One of the most notable people is @musicalnetta, who has been writing deep dive threads about the masks from Sam's Masquerade collection. She has written 129(!!!) of them so far. Last night, she reached out to me about helping her make these deep dives more accessible and asked if she could add them to the masks website that I had built. I immediately said yes and I just updated my website to include her incredible work! There is now a link to her threads on the full mask view. You can also filter the collection by those that have a deep dive by Lanett. A highlight of opening weekend was Director of @ToledoMuseum Adam Levine giving local tours explaining Masquerade, the Masks, my process, as well as the pieces' context in the Infinite Images exhibition and Museum collection at large. Like in Venice, I truly enjoyed talking to so many locals coming into the work totally cold but deeply open and curious - but having someone like Adam with an absurd level of knowledge and care for old and new while in a building representing both, be present with art, artist, and exhibition to invite people into it very intimately really opened the dynamic. It is a very out of body experience to go from hearing a museum director waxing on Luci as networked art and its connection to the Jacques-Louis David in the next room, to having a delightful conversation with a woman who came up to me right after about a multi-dimensional war that she senses I am waging against post-humanist evil aliens through the work. Toledo rocks.
