This case has been so sloppy by the government so far it that it really calls into question if our agencies and law enforcement personnel even have the talent required to handle this space?
I wonder if something happened in the last four years to turn the entire space against the gov't, which stopped helping them and instead regard them with incredible distrust, because it's hard to believe this is how the DoJ is proceeding if they had anyone even half-assed competent willing to work with them.
I mean, I'm literally an advisor to a firm that took 10 minutes to verify that almost everything the gov't said is a combination of wrong, malformed, or outright false. But the gov't seems not to have known (or did know, and proceeded anyways).
Huh. Funny, that.

The concept of insurance in the US is very different from the concept of insurance in Europe.
In Europe, insurance is reasonably priced and when something happens that is covered by your insurance:
1. you call your insurance
2. after some checks and some time, you receive money
In the US, insurance is absolutely incredibly expensive and when something happens that is covered by your insurance:
1. you wonder if you should call your insurance at all because
(a) they will do everything they can to not pay you (granted, they do that too in the EU but to a much lesser degree, I guarantee you)
(b) they will increase your insurance cost, the not-so-hidden message being "How dare you use the insurance that you pay for??")
I remember when I first arrived in the US, in the first 3 months, we had a water leakage and a broken pipe in our house. That's 2 claims. I called our insurance to report those... the woman on the phone could not believe it: "you want to report 2 claims??" And she went on to convince me to pick only 1 and report only the biggest issue, for my own good.
The bottom line is:
In the US, you pay your insurance only to insure you against the real big extremely costly issues like: you need cancer treatment, your house burnt down, your car got destroyed... etc... If the issue you're reporting is costing you less than ~$5K, most of the time, you're better off not asking your insurance to cover it.... even though it's covered and even though you're paying a high price for it 🤷🤦🇺🇸

US Health Insurance companies keep raising their deductibles
“I'm paying every single month for my health insurance, but I have to pay $9,000 before I can actually use my health insurance? What do you mean — So why do I have health insurance?”
And once you pay the $9,000 the insurance company is still going to deny your claim

As everyone is talking about tokenized stocks, I can only encourage you to read this paper by @CampbellJAustin and @TuongvyLe12 about "Crypto and the Evolution of the Capital Markets".
As someone building at the intersection of crypto and tradfi for many years at @FairmintCo, I can say this is one of the best paper ever published on the topic.
Everyone talks about "tokenizing securities" but few truly understand that crypto fixes the market plumbing, not just the assets!

The truth is that @Google has literally abandoned Gmail. For the 1st time ever, someone in the team asked if you should look for an alternative... That's how bad things have gotten!
My main issue with Gmail is not the blurry icon, but just that it doesn't do its job anymore: Obviously legit emails are flagged as spam and obvious spams land in inbox 🤦♂️
