The end of @kscalelabs shouldn't have us all suddenly believe that open hardware is not possible in the us What @benjamin_bolte and team was incredible and showed that there is a market for this There's never just one single reason why a company dies. Today everyone blames VCs because humans like to find one single explanation behind any event, but it is never just one thing We should not suddenly give up on making open hardware companies in the US. I did not come to this country from Europe to read this kind of message, it feels like Europeans saying "we'll just have a service industry and it will be great" In the face of hardship, Silicon Valley / the US fights back. If you're in the Bay, you know anyway that several others are still fighting, and by collectively saying "it's not possible", we're creating an ambient layer of pessimism and this is not how to react So let's go back to building cool tech
