Henry Cyril Paget, 5th Earl of Anglesey, c. 1900. Paget (1875–1905) was a British aristocrat known for his lavish lifestyle and eccentric love of theater and fashion. After Inheriting immense wealth at age 23, he transformed part of his estate, Plas Newydd, into a private theater called the “Gaiety Theatre.” Paget became infamous for his extravagant performances, elaborate costumes, and flamboyant personality, earning the nickname “the dancing marquess.” His excessive spending led to bankruptcy in 1904, and he passed away from tuberculosis the following year in Monte Carlo at age 29.
